Today marked an important milestone at the BEIER Machinery manufacturing facility as our technical team completed the factory dry-run and operational testing of a customized 1000kg/h PE film granulation line, ordered by a long-term partner in Russia.
Recycling post-consumer and industrial PE film presents specific challenges, primarily regarding high moisture content, low bulk density, and potential contamination. To meet the target throughput of one ton per hour without compromising melt quality, this PE film granulation line integrates a high-efficiency cutter-compactor directly paired with a single-screw extruder setup.
During today’s trial run, our quality control engineers verified several key operational parameters.
- Pre-conditioning & Feeding Efficiency: The high-speed cutter-compactor densifies light film scrap and uses friction heat to evaporate surface moisture. This creates a stable, continuous feed into the extruder barrel.
- Degassing Performance: The dual-vacuum degassing system was thoroughly checked under loaded conditions. It effectively evacuated residual volatile gases and moisture trapped inside the melt, preventing porosity in the final pellets.
- Melt Filtration & Pelletizing: The continuous hydraulic screen changer maintained stable system pressure throughout the test. Downstream, the water-ring die-face pelletizer produced uniform, dust-free granules with consistent bulk density.
Recovered Materials:

With factory testing now officially signed off, the PE film granulation machine has entered the teardown and surface protection stage. Every section will be labeled, vacuum-wrapped, and secured into heavy-duty wooden crates to handle the long overland transport to the customer’s processing facility in Russia.

Once on site, BEIER’s field support team will coordinate with local engineers to handle mechanical positioning, electrical wiring, and final commissioning.
FAQ:
Q1: What materials can this PE granulation line process?
A: It processes LDPE, LLDPE, and HDPE scrap, including agricultural film, stretch wrap, and printed packaging.
Q2: Why use a cutter-compactor instead of direct feeding?
A: It compacts loose, low-density film into dense agglomerates while pre-drying it, ensuring a continuous feed into the extruder.
Q3: What is checked during factory testing?
A: Technicians test heating zones, hydraulic stability, degassing performance, pellet uniformity, and safety systems under load.
